Microsoft Kinect for Windows version 1.0 available today

Kinect

Today is the day fine folks — Kinect for Windows is here. The official, and commercial, version 1.0 of the SDK just hit the interwebs along with the accompanying hardware for a price of $250, or $150 for qualified educational customers. The tool has picked up a number of new features since the last beta, including support for up to four Kinects being used simultaneously and near mode for monitoring motion from just 40cm away. The sensor itself seems mostly the same, but may not be compatible with its console cousin — the device’s product page states that it will only operate with software developed for Kinect for Windows. For more info and a complete list of improvements hit up the source link.

PowerDVD 12 brings syncing and transcoding for mobile devices

It’s been less than a year since CyberLink revealed PowerDVD 11 and now along comes PowerDVD 12. Among the new features in 12 is the ability to sync media — we can only assume this excludes protected content — to PowerDVD Mobile for Android as well as automatically transcode videos for most of the popular mobile devices. Said mobile clients are only free, though, if you opt of the $99 Ultra version of PowerDVD. PowerDVD Mobile is available for everyone else for $19.99, as well as PowerDVD Remote for $4.99. Overall it seems like an iterative update that might not hit the spot at $45 (for an upgrade), but there are other new features like OGG and FLAC support that might just push you over the edge.

How to Get Massive Traffic to Your Online Home Business

Internet companies have also started their blogs to inform consumers on the latest product news and reviews. Internet advertising with cost per click is a lot more popular and profitable than banner advertising. The downsides advertising with “cost per click” links, is that the main listings on all search engines receive the bulk of the traffic and you pay for clicks when a customer does not actually buy from your website.

Internet home business relies heavily on getting your site seen by as many fresh pairs of eyes as you can on a daily basis. After all, you can have the hottest product or the most valuable service, but you can’t sell something when there are no eyes looking at it.

Blogs started off as hobby web sites but they were soon realized to be profitable money making sites. Blog Blaster uses the XML-RPC interface to ping your blogs to the blog search engines. Blog carnivals are the pros best kept secret. Not many people use them and it’s not surprising that their websites get lots of visitors and customers.

Marketing is an integral part of all these aspects. No business enterprise can survive without marketing. Market-It has the most extensive suite of marketing and promotional tools ever assembled in one place. Marketing and promotion services include web development, search engine positioning, search engine optimization, website design, branding and much more.

Articles should be 500 to 2,000 words in length. Article Marketing can be one of the single most effective ways to build traffic through website promotion. It helps in not only giving your readers interesting news and information about your specific niche, but it also has many search engine marketing benefits as well. Article marketing is a very effective technique to develop this type of organic traffic.

Keywords are the heart of the Internet; you must dominate the search engines for your chosen keywords if you are to succeed online. This means when they search keywords phrases like Link Building, they will find you site page on the first page of the search engine results. Keywords are simply the words or phrases that people are searching for online. If you read through the links on that page, you will have a much better understanding of how you can research keywords to choose topics or products. Keywords are one of the top most priorities in the field of internet marketing. A search engine always looks for specific keyword that they show in the results page.

Choose a topic that is profitable or at least in demand, you will want to consider your likes and dislikes. It is easier to make money and write articles on a topic that you feel passionate about. Choose from a range of extra optional features for your Classified Ad.

Social media is everywhere! Unfortunately, a lot of social media traffic is worthless and doesn’t convert. Social bookmarking is a way of “bookmarking” favorite sites. Take a look at sites like digg and delicious. These are the top two social bookmarking sites you will want to use.

Start part time and make money in your spare time. All you have to do is sign up right now. Start a directory to list domains for sale. That’s what people like SEDO do.

Back To Basics: Sony Appoints Kazuo Hirai, Ousts Stringer

howard-stringer-sonyIf there’s been one complaint my contacts inside large CE companies have had, career-wise, it’s been the inability to rise far in the hierarchy. While there are clear exceptions to this rule, the complaint has always been that succeeding in Asian companies has been contingent on (literally) speaking the language and knowing the rules of the road, as it were, culturally. When Sir Howard Stringer took the reins at Sony, it looked like this tendency had been bucked. However, with the appointment of Kazuo Hirai, it looks like Sony is going back to the old ways – but why?

Foxconn stock climbs on Apple projections

This just in from the “not surprising since a rising tide lifts all boats” department — stock in Apple’s primary manufacturing partner, Foxconn, climbed to a recent high on speculation that Apple might be using metal casings for the next-generation iPhone.

The speculation is in line with what Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty noted last month. Huberty believes that Apple is moving away from the glass casing used on the iPhone 4 and 4S and moving to a metal casing instead. Foxconn spokesman Cheng-Kuang Liu, of course, wisely declined to comment about the rumors.

The use of metal in the new iPhone benefits companies like Foxconn that not only assemble Apple’s products, but produce the metal casings as well. The company’s share price surged almost seven percent yesterday on what so far is baseless speculation.

Panasonic adds Lumix DMC-TS4 and DMC-TS20 to ruggedized camera line

Panasonic has helped lead the market for ruggedized cameras, which have been a hit among adventurous photographers for years, and now the company has two new additions to add to its water/shock/freeze/dustproof cam line. Described as “the optical outdoor companion,” the Lumix DMC-TS4 is Panasonic’s new ruggedized flagship, replacing the TS3 and packing a 12.1 megapixel CCD sensor, 1080/60i HD video capture, a 4.6x 28-128mm optical zoom lens and 2.7-inch LCD. Naturally, it can withstand just about everything you’ll throw its way, considering that it’s waterproof to depths of 40 feet, shockproof to 6.6 feet and freezeproof to temps as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit. The TS4 also includes GPS, compass, altimeter and barometer functionality, logging all this data to supplement your photos with a full weather and location readout. Panasonic has also added full manual control, letting you adjust both aperture and shutter speed when shooting in manual mode.

The TS4 may offer a respectable spec list, but it doesn’t come cheap. The TS20 is an attractive alliterative, however, with a slim profile, 16.1 megapixel sensor, 720p HD shooting, a 4x 25-100mm optically stabilized zoom lens and a 2.7-inch LCD. It’s waterproof to 16 feet, freezeproof to 14 degrees Fahrenheit and can survive drops from up to five feet. There’s no manual option on this lower-end model, but it does include Panasonic’s Intelligent Auto mode for more accurate shooting. The TS20 will ship in late-February in orange, blue, black and red for $180, while the flagship TS4 will be available in orange, blue, black and silver for $400 when it ships in mid-March. You’ll find both press releases after the break.

Hassle-Free Golfing

Walking around a golf course can seem endless if there is a heavy bag to tug around. Golf push carts can make golfing even more pleasurable by easing the heavy load of carrying golf clubs. The biggest seller in golf carts is the three wheeled golf cart. Golf push carts are easy to handle and push around the fairway, and will become a favorite for avid golfers.

Push carts made for carrying golf bags have been evolving and now include a variety of features. Some golf carts come with storage areas, handle-mounted brakes, systems that make it easy to fold and unfold them, electric golf trolleys and mounts so a golfer does not need to stand under the hot sun, and even a drink holder.

Many companies sell different types and models of the three wheeled golf cart. These ergonomically designed carts are easier to manage around the course, and they handle the terrain smoothly. Many of them are made with aluminum making them lightweight and simple to fold, unfold, and store in the trunk of the car, or in a closet at home.

Golf push carts make a wonderful addition to any devoted golfers equipment. The three wheeled golf cart is handy to have around, especially on courses that do not allow electric golf carts to roam. There are many models to choose from and portability, lightweight, and sturdy are all great reasons to purchase one. Pick and choose, from a large selection, the type that is most appealing.

Some Simple Methods For Wine Pairing With Food

Wine has an intriguing history. Men and women have really enjoyed wine for millenia around the globe. In many places, wine isn’t just cherished with supper, but is experienced the entire day with every meal. Now, individuals are often intimidated by the wide selection of wines and the traditional rules for wine pairing with food. It doesn’t have to become a source of intimidation, however. Pairing food and wine is rather simple.

conventional wine pairing with food typically puts red wines with red meats and red sauces and white wines with white meat, fish and white sauces. With having said that, wine pairing with food may get a bit more difficult with the wide selections of wines. If you happen to be getting a steak with a horseradish crust, would a Pinot Noir or a Shiraz pair better? Exactly what white wine do you pick to enhance your seafood linguine alfredo–the Pinot Grigio or perhaps the Fume Blanc? There isn’t a simple answer to that query, and it will most certainly come down to the specific wine by itself instead of the sort of wine it happens to be.

Generally in bistros, the chef and the waitstaff will give guidelines to pair your meal accompanied by a specific wine to perfectly complement your food. If this is not the scenario, narrow down your choice to two, then try them both to see just what you like the most. Finally when pairing wine and food, the objective is to find the optimum gratification from both the food along with the wine. That signifies whatever you like best is the best pairing.

The best suggests for finding the best wine to enhance a meal is to try to recognize what works together well. Wine pairing with food will take some time, however, as soon as you start to experience more wines and more foods with your wines it is going to become an instinctive selection process. If you’re getting a spicy main course, such as horseradish crusted filet mignon, you might need to try out a red wine with spicy undertones to it as well. A medium-bodied Shiraz with a few peppery undertones will continue to work well with that sort of meal too.

Typically any time you turn to acquire wine at the store, you will have tags beneath the shelf which give a good brief description of the wine and whether it is fruity, spicy, full-bodied, chocolatey, etc. Using this data on the tags can give you a fantastic understanding of exactly what the wine will taste like and feel like inside your mouth. You could make your own personal food and wine pairings this way with plenty of success.

The key ingredient to pairing wine with food is to discover just what you take pleasure in most. A good cafe will provide you with a few recommendations for a good wine to complement the meal, and you can now gauge your very own pairings based upon wine product descriptions. Many recipes on different web sites may even give a suggestion for what type of wine will complement the meal best. But no matter what anybody recommends, it will Ultimately be what your palette tells you that you really take pleasure in most that can make the perfect food and wine pairing selection.
